I Got A Question
There are two cats hanging around lately. They are both males, and I don't think they are related. But the black one purrs almost all the time when we are near it or pet it, but the black and white one has never purred, but loves to be petted. Why does one purr and the other doesn't?

He is mute. Or a monk. Or a mute monk.
That's funny. Maybe we should name it Mute Monk. But it does meow a lot, especially when it is hungry. And that is almost all the time. The meow drives us crazy.
LOL Ariel! Call him M 'n M for short.
Or maybe call him Eminem because he sounds like he's rapping with the meows when he is hungry.
I think some cats think it is too cool to purr.
Maybe he is an alpha male.. No display of emotions!!!
LOL @Roach!
Eminem, the stray cat who rapps for food and gets on the nerves of everyone.
Different cats, different ways. Also, cats purr for all sorts of reasons, including nerves sometimes. It's not always because they're happy.
Hey. I think it does purr, but we just couldn't hear it. I was rubbing it and felt it vibrating, then put my ear against its neck and could very faintly hear a purr. But it sure meows loud when its hungry and hisses loud when Dusty gets near.
I bet Dusty feels to be terrific then.
He barks louder than it hisses. It becomes a mad house.
Mine all have such different personalities. Isis is a lap cat--she loves people but hates other cats. She is very vocal but rarely purrs. Raymond purrs all the time, loves to cuddle, and "talks" a lot. Leon rarely meows and tends to hang around with other cats but can sometimes be very affectionate. Trinity was once a house cat but was dumped by her former owner. She loves to be petted but not to be held.
Leon and Raymond are brothers. I ended up taking them both when a former co-worker had taken in a pregnant cat and they were the only ones left because I couldn't see them being without each other. They were really close. Leon was a bit of a runt but now he's huge.
