This four week old kitten is different from the others in the litter. The others are gray. And the others like to be picked up and held on their back and have their bellies rubbed. But this one hisses and extracts its claws and fights when you try to hold it and rub its belly.
Cheesemeister wrote this about the kitten in a comment a few days ago:
The one with the orange pattern on its face is most likely a female, as it is a tortoise-shell cat (like Isis the Pyro) and most tortoise-shell cats are female. Seriously! This is the knowledge they teach you in college biology. A tortoise-shell cat that is male is either an abnormal XXY chromosome pattern, and will be fine health-wise but is sterile, or is a chimera, which is an animal that has two different sets of chromosomes.

Or she could just be the spawn of Satan.
Ha ha! That's a good one, Jan. We'll find out soon enough when it grows.
I'm telling you, it's that tortoise-shell cat thing. Although Isis is very friendly to people. She just hates other cats. When the grocery delivery guy came, she stood up on her hind feet, rested her paws against his leg--and proceeded to try and use him as a scratching post. I grabbed her away but she won't learn. My ex husband and my son never dissuaded her from this kind of behavior. They also taught her to jump on their shoulders. I was not a happy camper the time she did that to me!
so what are u implying TOM? IS mean=Has to be female? lol
Poor thing, what's got it so upset at only four weeks old? It needs a little extra love...with long sleeves on.
"extra love with long sleeves on" LOL!!!
She sounds very normal to me. When you are a tiny little small animal and most things are bigger than you, you do have to keep your belly safe.
It is very interetsing about the tortoise-shell cats!
You have to watch out for those redheads...
Maybe she just wants you to know, early on, who's boss. I’d like to tell you that I’ve written a scathingly funny book, The World Is Your Litter Box, which will be out in May. The book is cleverly disguised as a cute cat book so humans will buy it, but is, in fact, a how-to manual FOR cats. Check it out on my website, www.theworldisyourlitterbox.com.
YIKES!!
It's a neat looking kitty though.
Congratulations on the book, Quasi. Although Isis claims that she is the only true expert on what cats should do but doesn't have time to write a book as she's always too busy kicking all the other cats' butts.
I am interested, Quasi, and wanted to invite you to worship with us Litteral Captists!
