Cats think they are EVERYBODY'S father.
Bootsy is a lot like Leon temperamentally. He seems pretty mellow most of the time and has a nurturing manner. I once had a kitten who was born with back legs that didn't work. Leon would hold him down with one front foot and wash him. Unfortunately the little guy's kidneys failed and because his lower bowel was paralyzed, he couldn't eliminate properly and he died.

The kitty is curious, and after what you said about him almost getting run over by a car, I think there's validity in the old saying:
