There are two cats hanging around lately. They are both males, and I don't think they are related. But the black one purrs almost all the time when we are near it or pet it, but the black and white one has never purred, but loves to be petted. Why does one purr and the other doesn't?
Icy hates baths. My wife and I were sitting watching TV and talking while Icy was on the porch. I said that I was going to take Icy upstairs and give her a bath. When I went out onto the front porch, Icy was gone and the baby gate was open. Icy had stuck her nose in it and pulled it just enough for her to squeeze out. I rushed out to see Icy sneaking away down the alley. It seems dogs can understand certain words we say even when they can't see us.
Dogs are like dragons, sometimes. Here you can see the lightning coming from Icy's mouth when she senses a cat is near. I had to put a roll of Plus-x Panchromatic film and a device used on heat-seeking missiles in my digital camera to get this picture.
It seems that Icy is getting tired of being a model, because when I go to take her picture she rolls her eyes back as if to say, "Not that again!" She turns her head away and refuses to cooperate and usually goes into the bushes to hide. In October it will be ten years that I have been putting pictures of her on blogs. I think she wants to retire.
