This is a picture of Dusty when we first got him when he was about six months old. He was sixteen when he died, which is about the average life span for a dog. He was Icy's father.

I think that's a little over the average life span. I'm so sad to hear that Dusty is gone. But he was very blessed to have such loving people to care for him, and to have Icy, who loved him too.
My heart goes out to all of you at this very sad time. I came to love Dusty too, through your writing.

Ah, I'm so sorry about Dusty. It seems he lived a nice long life with you. He lived fully to the end through your blog portraits.
