Boots or Bootsy is very lonely now. Mr. Gray has gone missing. He wasn't sick. He was very playful and loved being in the house, but he went outside and has not been seen since. Bootsy is like Icy, she won't go outside unless I go out with them. I just found the black tortoise-shell kittens body in the basement. He had been sick for several days before he disappeared. We had given away the other kitten that looked exactly like Boots. So out of the four kittens which Mama Noname had, there is only one left, and he is very lonely now, since he was so used to playing with the others. I also noticed a dead yellow kitten in the bushes in the yard next door. No name hasn't been around in a while.

Lonely Kitty
Boots or Bootsy is very lonely now. Mr. Gray has gone missing. He wasn't sick. He was very playful and loved being in the house, but he went outside and has not been seen since. Bootsy is like Icy, she won't go outside unless I go out with them. I just found the black tortoise-shell kittens body in the basement. He had been sick for several days before he disappeared. We had given away the other kitten that looked exactly like Boots. So out of the four kittens which Mama Noname had, there is only one left, and he is very lonely now, since he was so used to playing with the others. Some years where I live a new crop of stray kittens will turn up and then next year they are gone, eaten by coyotes or killed by raccoons or foxes, or they get hit by cars. My two cats Raymond and Leon are actually part of this lineage. One of my former neighbors took in a pregnant cat and they were part of that litter. There are always gray tabbies (like Leon) and gray and white long hairs (like Raymond) among these litters, and I am not sure, but Trinity (my calico cat) may have been part of one of those litters too. Isis the Pyro Cat was from before we moved into that house. We brought her with us. She was semi-wild. She's the only one of the cats that isn't strictly indoor. She gets out around my feet, so I can't really fight her on it. She's a lot faster than me.
It's so sad to hear about Mr. Gray and Turdy. :-(
I hope Boots stays sort of shy. He'll live longer that way.
I'm sorry for all of this and Boots. The bigger he gets the safer, I hope Icy and he will help each other.
This is more sad news Tom - perhaps he just went exploring as young tomcats are wont to do. It is worrisome that the there is another dead kitty - do you think somebody is poisoning them? Hurry up home NoName.
How very sad. Poor Tortie kitty that died in the basement. Poor, little thing.
Poor Boots has gone from all that playful excitement to feeling all alone in the world. Maybe Icy will show him some love.

Maybe it's feline distemper that's killing them. I don't know the proper name for that. It's always fatal.
It's not always fatal, because my family once adopted two kittens with it, Grosset & Dunlap. Grosset survived to be hit by a car, and Dunlap survived but was dim-witted and sneezed a lot. Eventually she went blind and disappeared, but we had her for nine years.
Anyway, I hope Icy and Boots can be company for each other.

Feline Infectious Peritonitis is always fatal, but it takes awhile to kill the animal that gets it. It is highly contagious. Unfortunately I once took in a cat that was very dear to me and it turned out that he had it. I thought he was a very young kitten, maybe 3 months old. It turned out he was 6 months old.
Some of the signs of it are watery eyes, fever, and constant sneezing or other respiratory problems.
I'd say it sounds more like the cats in your neighborhood are being poisoned. I hope the poisoner poisons themselves by accident. It would be justice.
Sorry about the dead cats. I too hope Icy and Boots will be company for each other. Big losses on both sides.
