Just Neighbors

The black kitten was just part of a litter from the cat next door. I don't know why she brought them over to our garage, but I gave them a treat and then she took them back over to their original home. They might have gotten scared because I saw a possum over there. Don't know if possums or opossums harm cats or kittens, but when I lived on a farm I saw where they killed chickens and ginny fowl.

a beautiful burmese adopted us -- graced us with his presence for a handful of weeks, before vanishing back into the mythos from whence he came. we called him "drac"

No wonder possums are put in stews.

They're so adorable! The mommy looks like my Trinity. She would have been a good mom but it didn't make sense to let her have kittens--I've already got enough cats.
Possums and raccoons do get into it with cats and sometimes kill them. We don't have possums around here but we have raccoons, coyotes, and foxes. For a while there were several litters of kittens every year and they'd slowly disappear over time. I think that the catch, neuter and release program managed to cut down the feral cat population around here. My boys, Leon and Raymond, were offspring of that population.

I told my cat I would feed her and then she must leave. She said, sure that's how it works. That was 8 years ago.
