Life's good when lilacs bloom. That's something I miss about the midwest, fifteen years after I last lived there.

Lilacs are God's gift to us earth dwellers. I took a walk around the block yesterday with my grandson and we found a white lilac which smelled heavenly. He wanted to pick one. This week I cut own my very first offering of purple lilac flowers from stock my dad gave me to plant from his yard in Southern California about 6 years ago... they are filled with nostalgia for me.
